Crown Trade Matt Vinyl Emulsion is a high performance, water based emulsion formulated for interior walls and ceilings where a clean, modern matt finish is required. Its flat, non reflective appearance makes it particularly suitable for large surface areas, helping to reduce glare and disguise minor imperfections in the substrate. The paint offers excellent coverage and opacity, with a spreading rate of up to 17 square metres per litre on smooth surfaces. It is touch dry in 1 to 2 hours and can be recoated after 4 hours under normal conditions, allowing for efficient project turnaround. The formulation is easy to apply by brush or roller, or airless spray application. - Surface Preparation – All surfaces, whether new or previously painted, must be sound, clean, dry and free from dust, grease or any material that could impair adhesion. New porous surfaces should be sealed with a mist coat of Matt Vinyl Emulsion diluted with 40 percent clean water by volume, while powdery surfaces should be stabilised using a suitable water based stabilising solution. Polished or dense surfaces require priming with an appropriate alkali resisting or adhesion promoting primer. Previously decorated surfaces should have all loose or flaking paint removed, edges feathered, and contaminants washed off using warm water and detergent, followed by rinsing with clean water and thorough drying. Any organic growth should be treated with a suitable fungicidal wash. Cracks, fixing holes and surface defects should be filled with an appropriate filler, sanded smooth once dry, and bare or filled areas patch primed as required. Glossy surfaces should be lightly abraded to provide a suitable key before painting.
- Instructions for Use – Stir thoroughly before use to ensure an even consistency. The product is suitable for application by brush or medium pile roller, and can also be applied by airless spray where dilution may be required. It is designed for interior walls and ceilings only. Apply two coats as required, allowing 1 to 2 hours drying time between coats and a minimum of 4 hours before recoating under normal conditions. Adequate ventilation should be provided during application and drying. Do not apply if air or surface temperatures are below 8°C or if relative humidity exceeds 80 percent. For best colour consistency, intermix tins where possible and always check colour accuracy before application.
- Instructions for Storage – Store in secure, dry conditions with the container kept tightly closed when not in use. It should be stored at temperatures between 5°C and 40°C and must be protected from frost. Keep the paint out of reach of children and animals, and store it in a cool, well ventilated area away from incompatible materials and sources of ignition. When stored correctly in unopened containers under normal, frost free conditions, the product will remain usable for up to two years.
